Local Transportation

Conference Shuttle

A shuttle between the downtown hotels and the Union will be available at limited times on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of the conference. A detailed schedule is available on this page.

City Bus

Lawrence’s bus system is shared with the University. The bus schedule changes when classes are not in session, as will be the case during the IASSIST 2017 conference. Relevant routes and schedules are detailed on this page. For more information about bus routes, schedules, and fares, visit LawrenceTransit.org and KU on Wheels. A Lawrence Transit app and SMS service are also available.

Walk

The conference venue, KU Memorial Union, is located one block from the Oread Hotel and two blocks from GSP Hall. Downtown Lawrence is within walking distance of campus.  TownePlace Suites and The Eldridge are 1 mile (a 25 minute walk) from the Union; Springhill Suites is 1.3 miles from the Union (a 30 minute walk). View a map of walking routes to downtown hotels. Since KU is on a hill, walkers will encounter a steep hike from Tennessee Street west to Jayhawk Boulevard.

ADA Service

Paratransit services will be available for attendees with special transportation needs. Please contact the Local Arrangements Committee for assistance.

Free and hourly-rate parking will be available near the Kansas Union and in downtown Lawrence. To avoid tickets and/or towing, see the conference’s Parking page for more details.
